Summer Outdoor Concert Series: Tom Catmull Trio
In partnership with Mighty Fine Time Live Events, the Summer Outdoor Concert Series presents FREE local and regional musicians each Thursday evening from 5-8PM in June and July.
Eclectic Roots Americana
Tom Catmull is a word enthusiast. They are the larger part of what makes his world go round. He’s spent the last twenty-five years in his adopted hometown of Missoula, MT presenting words in ways to make them as alluring as possible to people who crave such things. The tricks useful to achieving this feat include infectious melody, thoughtful arrangement, storytelling, some finger picking and a clean shirt. The last couple of decades have included seven full length albums, a few television appearances (Montana PBS 11th and Grant), a hundred theaters performances (The Wilma, The Rex, The Roxy, The Dennison, etc), dozens of festivals, countless honkytonks and two ridiculously fun national anthems. He’s been the supporting act for Robert Earl Keen, Charlie Musselwhite, Junior Brown, Asleep at the Wheel and a dozen others.
Tom and his terrific trio blew our minds in 2024 and we invited him back before he started his second set. Tom’s clever and catchy tunes will delight you - great melodies and stories - the perfect summer night music.

Led by Roberts (songwriter, lead vocalist and B3 organist) the band is known for its energetic performances, heartfelt lyrics, and original compositions that draw inspiration from legendary artists. Experienced with a professional music career that started in Los Angeles, Roberts was able to tour, perform and record with Soul and Gospel music icons like Bobby Womack, Chaka Khan, Beverly Crawford, Booker T, Kirk Franklin, Al Green, The Temptations, The O'jays and more. Inspiration for Soul Skillet is pulled from these real-life experiences.

John Roberts fell in love with blues and soul music as a young teenager while growing up in North Central Montana. Garnering records of Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Willie Dixon,
Professor Longhair and more, Roberts spent many hours at the piano singing and learning this music by ear. This nostalgia was the impetus to begin the band Soul Skillet, which he leads from the B3 organ.
Roberts has performed in all 50 of the United States and internationally on 6 continents:
Mexico, South America, Israel, Cuba, India, Asia, Europe, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Australia and Africa. Notable venues include the Lincoln Center in New York, Pantages Theatre, Kodak Theatre, Roskilde, House of Blues, Blue Note, Apollo and Apollo London. Tours include; John Roberts y Pan Blanco (Afro-Latin Soul), Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca (Congolese/Cuban), Bobby Womack (Soul), Los Pinguos (Argentina), The Temptations, Chaka Khan, The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and more. Brent traveled on the road with the award winning Christian Country group The Fox Brothers in 1994, and after coming off the road, began leading worship part-time and later full-time. Years later, God led him in a direction that currently places him on a ranch in Paradise Valley, leading the worship team at Expedition Church. Brent’s music is currently being played on several Christian Country radio stations across the country.
Star Caron- Star Caron is a proud wife, mom, and aerialist from the Gallatin valley near Bozeman. Star fell in love with the art of aerial dance and the lovely community of dancers it brings together early on. Star Caron is very excited to perform her original piece Ascend on silks. In her free time when she’s not taking care of her family or instructing dance classes in Bozeman, you'll usually find her crocheting, spending time with her pets, or gardening at home.
Group Hug- Braxton Mackenzie, a talented vocalist, and Connor Ault, an instrumentalist, met at a karaoke bar back in 2022. One back porch jam session later, they decided they wanted to team up and start performing together. They’ve been playing shows in and around the Bozeman area ever since, calling themselves “GroupHug.” They are both so excited to take to the stage in Livingston together for the first time, performing Gnarles Barkley’s “Crazy” for voice and guitar.
Garnish and the Sauce- Ian Brown, originally from Washington, began playing tunes at age of 8, starting with the piano, then the saxophone, and the guitar at 17. When not performing, you can find Ian in his motorcycle shop building cool machines. Livingston native Quinlan Conley has been playing music since birth. If he’s not rocking out on stage, he’s making people look good at Quinn’s Barbershop or fixing up classic cars. While Andrea Lachniet loves spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, and skiing, you can often find her at her piano. Starting on the piano at age 5, she loves playing music in the church, with friends, and occasionally at weddings.
Arabian Nights- Hayden Opsahl (12) and Seamus Stewart (12) are both members of the 406Cirque Youth Troupe. Their piece Arabian Nights is an original work. The duo choreographed this act as a way to challenge themselves to combine their passion for tumbling, gymnastics, trapeze, and aerial silks. For the past two years, Hayden has starred in 406Cirque's annual Spooktacular production. In addition to the circus, Hayden loves volleyball and gymnastics. In 2025, Seamus was a soloist in the 406Cirque’s production of A Circus Carol, playing the part of Young Scrooge. He has also performed with Opera Montana and Montana Theatre Works.

These talented young people have performed at multiple MSU HalfTime Shows and as part of 406Cirque's original productions A Circus Carol and Spooktacular. Some members of the youth troupe are also preparing to compete at the 2025 Unicycle Championships this summer.

LFS PRESENTS: FROZEN FRAMES- MURPHY'S YELLOWSTONE
The Livingston Film Series is proud to present a free screening of FROZEN FRAMES: MURPHY’S YELLOWSTONE. Photographer Tom Murphy has dedicated his life to speaking out for the wildlife of Yellowstone. In the dead of winter, Murphy treks deep into the Park to capture the lives and struggles of those who survive there. His remarkable photographs capture both the magnificence of Yellowstone and one man's tenacious dedication to protect what is still wild.
As the only person known to have traversed the length of Yellowstone National Park solo in winter, Murphy is driven by curiosity and a yearning to experience nature in its raw form. He has experienced Yellowstone at its most brutal and beautiful moments. With a minimalist approach to gear, a keen sense of direction and a passion for wild places, Murphy takes us on a voyage that borders on the spiritual and asks each of us to consider the value of preserving the wild.
A talk back with Tom Murphy will be held after the screening!
