The Waiting
Rock and Roll
The Waiting is one of America’s most electrifying roadhouse rock & roll bands—and they’ve got a one-track mission: to bring the music of Tom Petty to life with grit, heart, and zero gimmicks.
This isn’t a lookalike act. No wigs, no cosplay, no karaoke vibes. Just a group of top-tier musicians channeling the raw soul and swagger of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, his solo catalog, and even his time as Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr. in the Traveling Wilburys. With roaring guitars, locked-in grooves, and vocals that hit you right in the memory bank, The Waiting doesn’t just play Petty’s music—they ignite it.
Formed in 2013, The Waiting has been tearing through the American West, turning first-timers into superfans and longtime Petty lovers into loyal followers. Whether it’s a smash hit like “Refugee” or a deep cut that only the truest fans can hum by heart, they play with a fiery energy and tight musicianship that brings audiences to their feet and keeps them there.
The Waiting is more than a band—it’s a traveling celebration of one of rock’s greatest songwriters. A Petty party that’s loud, proud, and designed to bring fans together through the soundtrack of their lives. This will be their first performance at the Shane Center, what a kickoff for the SOCS season!

BO DePeña TriO
Texas Country/Americana
Colorado-based songwriter/performer, Bo DePeña, has developed a reputation as a consummate working musician. Over the years, his high-energy shows have generated a loyal fan base around the mountain west, and it’s clear to see why fans of the country music tradition embrace his songs. From Texas to Colorado to South Dakota to Montana, Bo’s music can be heard at bars, breweries, rodeos, honky tonks, and beyond. Bo has shared stages with artists such as William Clark Green, Chris Knight, Dale Watson, William Michael Morgan, Ned LeDoux, and Colter Wall. His lyrical content is often universal, evoking memories of past lives, lost loves, and a longing for home. This explains why his followers are an eclectic bunch, encompassing many backgrounds, tastes, and persuasions. If you are a fan of good stories, good tunes, and good vibes, you won’t want to miss a Bo DePeña show. The Shane Center was so taken with Bo in 2025 he was booked to return before he took his first set break.
“Out of Laredo he came, carrying songs like weathered saddlebags, heavy with dust and memory. He moved north into the high country where the mountains lean against the sky, and he sang in bars and barns, in rodeos and roadside taverns. Folks leaned in, not for spectacle but for the truth in his voice.
They say he plays country the old way, and the new way... both, shifting from dance-halls to the slow reckonings of a man alone with his guitar. He's got Texas grit, rock-and-roll swagger, and the rough cut of a songwriter's trade.
The stories are plain and they go deep-lives worn hard, gloves gone missing, a home you can see in your mind but can't quite reach. If you've ever chased a horizon that never answers back, you'll know this language. Tonight the room is his, and the miles on the dance floor are ours. Please welcome Bo DePeña and his band!!” - Bob Livingston (2025 Big Barn Dance - Taos, NM)
