common questionS

  • A: ANYONE! We welcome new faces and fresh talent, and love the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people who share our passion. Please check the specific audition material for age restrictions.

  • A. No biggie! It doesn’t matter if up until now if you’ve been a theatre enthusiast, a musical audience member or the person who loves singing in the shower!

  • A: Auditions are held at the Shane Center (415 E. Lewis St.) in Livingston, Montana unless otherwise specified. When you arrive at the Shane Center we’ll direct you to the correct location.

  • A: Nope! No prepared material is necessary. We’ll provide everyone with a short musical selection that we all learn together. After, you’ll get the chance to show your stuff with a solo performance.

  • A: We generally hold callbacks the following Wednesday evening at 7pm. Callbacks are the same format as auditions. Remember— even if you don’t receive a callback, it doesn’t mean you aren’t in the show. Sometimes our director just needs to see more for certain groupings of characters!

  • A: We will post the cast list to our website and theatre doors on the Friday following auditions.

  • A: Each show consists of approximately 6 weeks of rehearsals, followed by 4 weekends of shows. Rehearsals start the Monday following auditions and are scheduled Monday – Friday from 7-10pm with one long rehearsal the weekend prior to opening (usually on Sunday). Your specific rehearsal schedule will depend on your role. Cast members are expected to take notes and memorize their material on their own.

You must be able to attend all performances — four weekends with Friday and Saturday evening shows at 7:30pm, and Sunday matinees at 3pm. There will also be a Thursday evening show at 7:30pm during the last weekend of performances.

  • A: Please share your availability up front! As long as we know about it in advance, it’s not a deal breaker. There will be a place on the back of your audition form to list all of your scheduled conflicts. Please make sure you are able to attend every performance.

  • A: Absolutely! We would love to have you participate by helping with any of the many technical aspects that go into each production. Some examples include; costuming, set construction, stage management, lighting and sound, ushering, and concessions.
