Act II: Our Next Chapter

As our community evolves and grows, we recognize the need for a public, outdoor venue that will foster inclusivity, elevate artistic excellence, and strengthen community bonds.

Act II: Scene 2

We are excited to share a glimpse of our upcoming project aimed at further enhancing our community and strengthening our commitment to the arts. The original renovation of the East Side School into the Shane Center and the most recent enhancement to increase accessibility and modernize spaces have demonstrated unprecedented innovation between the City of Livingston and our non-profit organization, fueled by unwavering support from the community.

The benefits

  • Increased accessibility: The new space will provide cover over the ADA compliant ramp, ensuring safe access to the building during inclement weather, and enabling individuals of all abilities to engage in arts and cultural activities.

Expanded community participation: With a larger venue, we can accommodate a broader range of community members, offering diverse programs and opportunities for artistic expression.

  • Reflecting Livingston's history: The design of the new space will pay homage to the historic character of downtown Livingston, capturing the essence of our train town heritage.

Enhanced programming and collaborations: The expanded facility will facilitate the growth of our operations, education programs, and community partnerships, allowing us to elevate the scope and quality of our artistic offerings.

Optimal performance conditions: The new outdoor venue will provide protection from rain, sun, and other elements, ensuring that participants can deliver their best performances without disruptions, allowing for an immersive and unforgettable experience for both artists and audiences.

  • Increased space for community use: The new facility will provide additional space for artists, musicians, cultural and educational groups, non-profit organizations, and businesses, promoting collaboration and creating a vibrant hub for creative activities.

Meeting community demands: By expanding our capacity, we can keep pace with the growing needs and expectations of our community, ensuring that more individuals can access and enjoy the arts.

Fostering community pride: The project will enhance Livingston's unique character, instilling a sense of pride and identity among residents, while also attracting visitors who appreciate our cultural heritage.

Establishing cultural leadership: Our continued dedication to excellence positions Livingston as a cultural leader in south central Montana, attracting cultural tourism and contributing to local economic growth.
