A Evening with Roy Rogers & Ramblin' Jack Elliott — with special guests Wylie and the Wild West

A Evening with Roy Rogers & Ramblin' Jack Elliott — with special guests Wylie and the Wild West

We are proud to welcome folk legend Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and Grammy-winning slide guitarist Roy Rogers to the Blake Pavilion at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts. They are joined by Wylie and the Wild West — a dynamic voice of the American roots music scene and the ethereal High Plains Yodeling style.

Ramblin' Jack is known for his love of storytelling and veteran troubadour-style performance. As a Presidential National Medal of Arts recipient with a permanently enshrined seat at Woody Guthrie Center Theater in Tulsa, Jack showcases a career of more than 60 years through his roots in Folk, Blues, Americana, Cowboy music, and poetry. He received the 2016 Folk Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award, two Grammy awards, and has released 40 albums.

Jack is joined by Roy Rogers — a master guitarist who dazzled the second Livingston Hoot with The Rhythm Kings. He has toured the world and most recently visited Bozeman in his opening set with the legendary Bonnie Raitt.

For over the last 33 years, Wylie Gustafson and his band, The Wild West, have performed their refreshing blend of cowboy, western, and traditional country. They are hugely popular on the festival and theatre circuit. Stateside, they have performed at such prestigious venues as the National Folk Festival, MerleFest, the Bumbershoot Festival, The Stagecoach Festival, A Prairie Home Companion, The Conan O’Brien Show, and the Grand Ole Opry (with over 50 guest appearances). Gustafson remains distinct in country music as one of the few authentic voices of the genre.

Bob Dylan calls Ramblin’ Jack, “the King of the Folk Singers.” Don’t miss your chance to experience very rare performances by two American icons and a Delta blues master.

Brought to you in partnership with Mighty Fine Time Live Events. The Shane Lalani Center for the Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. 50% of each ticket purchase is tax deductible.

Expanded bicycle parking onsite. Additional vehicle parking available at Lincoln School, 215 East Lewis St.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks Presents: Hamlet

FREE PERFORMANCE IN THE BLAKE PAVILION

5PM EDUCATION SHOWCASE | 6PM PERFORMANCE

“Arthur Miller once said that he believes Hamlet remains one of the most contemporary plays ever written. I think the universality of that idea gives us this sense that Hamlet is timeless.” - Kevin Asselin, Director of Hamlet

Hamlet tells the story of the young prince of Denmark who returns home following the sudden death of his father. The most famous ghost story ever told, Hamlet grapples with the weight of his responsibility to avenge his father’s death, to out-maneuver his traitorous uncle, and “to be, or not to be.” With some of Shakespeare’s most memorable lines and iconic characters, audiences won’t want to miss this tale of love and loss, duty vs desire, and the power of performance.

Expanded bicycle parking onsite. Additional vehicle parking available at Lincoln School, 215 East Lewis St.
